John J. Woodard Jr

Candidate – N C House of Representatives

“ The powers not delegated to the United States

Article 12 - The Bill of Rights

In these difficult times, we should be focused on creating jobs. Before we can pay for healthcare, we need jobs with which to pay for this or any other legislative initiatives. State government nor federal government is capable of creating jobs. They can only create a favorable environment for the creation of a business climate which will lead to job creation. Then, with a reasonable tax environment business will grow and spur increased employment. The Democrats have allowed high taxes and 11.9% unemployment which combined with unsustainable state budget increases to become the basis of our state's economy. In the face of these conditions, they passed a $990 million tax increase in 2009. Clearly the Democrats are out of touch with the voters.

My candidacy is based upon the need to bring financial discipline to state government within the means of the Constitution of the State of North Carolina and the Constitution of the United States. There is no way to judge the actions of our state government within the context of the Constitution of our state much less our nation. I seek your vote in order to bring fiscal sanity to our great state and to work with a new Republican Congress in Washington to eliminate unfunded federal mandates which burden our economy.
